Pensioners could benefit from an increase in income by 7.7% since the beginning of 2027, depending on the rate of inflation and wage developments. For a pension of 3,000 lei, the increase would mean about 231 more lei per month. For now, the percentage is only an estimate, and the application of indexation depends on the budgetary situation and the decision of the authorities.
A possible increase in pensions from next year, however, is an indexation aimed at mitigating the impact of inflation, which rose to 6.61% in September.
A monthly pension of 1,000 euros could go up to 1,035 euros in 2027 if the central forecast of an increase of 3.5% is confirmed. The revaluation of contributory pensions will depend on the average inflation recorded between December 2025 and November 2026. The INE will publish the IPC advance data of November 27 and the final data on December 15, when the increase to be applied from January 2027 can be calculated.
