Polish army changes battalion structure adds drone units and reduces the number of armored vehicles 02 August 2026
The Polish army is reforming combat battalions in the light of the experience of war in Ukraine, and plans are being made to reduce the number of armoured vehicles and strengthen the units with unmanned systems.
Everything indicates that the dispute that has been going on for several years about whether Polish units should operate in a structure in which there are 58 vehicles (e.g. tanks) or 44 in a battalion has already been resolved in favor of the latter model.
