Cygames States Uma Musume: Pretty Derby Franchise's U.S. Concerts May Be Canceled Due to Visa Issues
Cygames said it is working with lawyers and U.S. promoters to secure visas for the 2-night show.
On Tuesday, Cygames announced the cancellation of the Uma Musume: Pretty Derby – 7th Event World Tour: The Stage concerts in Los Angeles, originally scheduled for October 22–23, 2026, after failing to secure necessary U.S. visas.
Staff spent over six months working with lawyers and promoters to secure entry visas, but ultimately were unable to obtain the necessary documentation for the franchise's voice actors to perform.
The Trump administration's escalated immigration crackdowns have hindered international performers; numerous artists have cancelled U.S. events or avoided performing in the country due to visa complications.
Cygames apologized to fans, stating "Although we have coordinated repeatedly with all parties concerned and explored every possible option in our efforts to make this event happen, we were unable to obtain the necessary visas." The company is investigating ways to alleviate attendee frustration.
Industry observers question whether the current visa environment will dissuade Cygames and other international developers from organizing future global events within the U.S., with some analysts expressing broader concerns about entertainment sector accessibility.
