Water overflowed from retention reservoirs in Braniewo, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. Damage was caused to the new town square, sidewalk, and bicycle path. Heavy rainfall has continued in the region for several days.
According to the regional headquarters of the State Fire Service, water spilled from two tanks - one on the territory of a military unit, the other in the city. The incident occurred due to heavy rains that have hit the region in recent days.
After several days of heavy rainfall in Braniewo (Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship), two retention reservoirs overflowed – one located on the grounds of a military unit, the other within the city limits. Mayor Tomasz Sielicki assured that the situation was under control and there was no threat to residents, nor was there any need for evacuation.
