On the afternoon of 9 April, masked intelligence officers came to the New Gazette in Moscow and reported to the press themselves. "We don't know why the editorial lawyers are not allowed into the office, where some of the employees are also present," said a report on the television channel Novoy.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that it had initiated proceedings concerning the illegal use of data in the preparation of articles (article 272.1 of the Criminal Code).
The Tver District Court of Moscow remanded a New Gazette columnist and co-founder of the newspaper Interviewer* Oleg Roldugin as part of the criminal investigation into the misuse of personal data (art. 272.1 of the Criminal Code) until 10 May.
