In Italian soil, France has pulverized its record with 23 medals, eight in gold, nine in silver, and six in bronze. Before the start of the Winter Olympics, the goal was to become a minimum of the fifth world nation on the medal table. The mission is almost accomplished since France finishes sixth behind Germany.
