More than four years after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has lifted some of the restrictions imposed on Russian athletes, who will be able to target the Olympic Games 2028, even in team sports.
Although several international sports federations have begun to allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to compete with their symbols again, the International Biathlon Union (IBU) has no intention of doing so. This is causing pain in the Russian sports scene.
