Ukraine's EU accession date depends on decisions in Kyiv - Poroshenko
Member of parliament, leader of the European Solidarity party Petro Poroshenko said that the Verkhovna Rada should soon adopt draft laws on the "Kachka-Kos Plan" to secure funding from the European Union under the Ukraine Facility program, the political force's website reports.
The European Commission has proposed an alternative mechanism for Ukraine to receive up to 4 billion euros of financing: for this purpose, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine must adopt a package of 11 laws provided for by the Ukraine Plan program.
In a situation where Ukraine urgently needs external financing, but Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban retains a veto on the main package of financial assistance, Brussels has offered Kiev an alternative way to receive budget assistance and at the same time create a positive momentum in relations with the EU.
