GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida forward Aurora Almón and her Dominican Republic teammates defeated the Virgin Islands 102-69 Saturday to take the bronze medal at the FIBA Women's AmeriCup 2027 Centrobasket Qualifiers, earning a spot in the 2027 AmeriCup in the process.
The Dominican Republic's women's team successfully closed their participation in the Centrobasket Femenino 2026 by winning the bronze medal, after strongly imposing 102-69 over the Virgin Islands in the third place match, contested at the Alexis Argüello Sports Center in Managua, Nicaragua.
