As of January, if you have a breakdown or an accident, you will no longer be worth the triangles. It will be mandatory to carry a beacon connected to Traffic. The change is creating a good mess: AUGC, the majority association of the Civil Guard, believes that this beacon does not protect enough. The Spanish Directorate General of Traffic (DGT) mandates the replacement of emergency triangles with the V16 warning device starting January 1, 2026.
