The violently escalating power struggle between the government and the president of Poland's Constitutional Court continues. Bishops now want to contribute to the resolution of the conflict and call on all parties to the conflict to be prudent and humble.
Polish bishops offer to mediate between Tusk and Nawrocki in the crisis of the Constitutional Court and call for a national fast on November 10.
The bishops declare their readiness to potentially initiate and support a mediation process between the parties to the political dispute, said Fr. Leszek Gęsiak, spokesman for the Polish Episcopal Conference. He noted that the bishops also want to support "dialogue in the search for solutions to the current crisis."
For years, Church hierarchy has been calling on politicians to come to their senses, engage in dialogue, and seek compromise. They have even offered assistance in mediation, to no avail.
