‘The Cat In The Hat’ Rotten Tomatoes Reviews Split Over Animated Adaptation Of Dr. Seuss’ Classic Tale
- On Friday, November 6, 2026, Warner Bros. Pictures releases the animated The Cat in the Hat, with Bill Hader voicing the title character in this reboot directed by Erica Rivinoja and Alessandro Carloni.
- Rivinoja and Carloni aim to distance this adaptation from the 2003 live-action version starring Mike Myers, which critics panned, utilizing stylized computer animation to modernize the classic Dr. Seuss story.
- Hader voices the Cat, an employee of the Institution of Imagination and Inspiration tasked with cheering up siblings Gabby and Sebastian, alongside cast members Quinta Brunson, Bowen Yang, and Matt Berry as Waffles.
- Early reviews describe the film as 'hectic' and 'overcrowded,' with critics citing a 70 on the Mess-o-Meter and reliance on juvenile humor, including fart jokes, as detractors.
- The film represents the first feature from the recreated Warner Bros. Pictures Animation division, led by Dreamworks veteran Bill Damaschke.
