The Blood of Dawnwalker Update 1.1 Adds Directional Animal Petting and Over 1,100 Other Improvements and Fixes
Rebel Wolves says the patch adds a respec item, a new combat-assist Story mode and more than 1,100 fixes.
- Rebel Wolves announced that The Blood of Dawnwalker Update 1.1 launches next week, bringing over 1,100 improvements and fixes to the vampire RPG. The developer has not confirmed a specific release date.
- Players can soon reset their skills using the new Draught of Mind Rebirth, a consumable item allowing users to forget their Swordmastery, Witchcraft, and Vampirism abilities. This enables experimenting with different builds without restarting.
- To assist players struggling with combat, the update adds a Forgiving difficulty mode with assistance. Rebels Wolves also refined camera movement, traversal mechanics, and added directional petting for dogs and cats.
- Technical adjustments include updated frame generation technology, increased subtitle font sizes, and full subtitle support for all dialogue lines. Japanese Steam version will no longer censor blood and gore.
- Although this represents the largest update since September launch, the studio considers The Blood of Dawnwalker a starting point for an epic RPG series. New Game Plus arrives in a future update.

The Blood of Dawnwalker's update 1.1 adds a "forgiving" difficulty setting, but I think I'll find it hard to forgive its introduction of "directional animal petting"
Quick! Hit left scratch ear! Hit down rub belly! Slap right bum pats! Annnnd you've died because you failed to parry a paw coming for you with the force of a vampire's claw. This is how I assume things will go if I boot up The Blood of Dawnwalker once its 1.1 update debuts. Devs Rebel Wolves, in their infinite wisdom, claim to be set to add in "directional animal petting" as part of it.
