THE ASHLEY GIBSON BARNETT MUSEUM OF ART ANNOUNCES LAURA PUTNAM AS CURATOR OF EXHIBITIONS
Putnam brings more than a decade of museum experience and will oversee exhibition planning, research, and artist partnerships.
On Wednesday, the Ashley Gibson Barnett Museum of Art at Florida Southern College named Laura V. Putnam as its new Curator of Exhibitions.
Putnam, who has served the museum since 2013, stepped into an expanded role following the departure of former Executive Director and Chief Curator Alex Rich.
Holding a Master of Science in Arts Administration from Boston University, Putnam has curated notable exhibitions including The Medici Dynasty: Renaissance in Florence and Darkroom Alchemy.
Executive Director Daryl Ward praised her "exceptional leadership" and "curatorial voice," stating she is the right person to lead the museum's vision moving forward.
Beyond her new role, Putnam continues serving as an Adjunct Professor at Florida Southern, supporting the growth of the museum's 14,000 sq ft Dr. Anne B. Kerr Wing.
