The Minister of Consumer Affairs, Social Rights and Agenda 2030, Pablo Bustinduy, has stressed that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is a "functional instrument for the interests of the American empire" and has argued that the "priority strategic interest" for Spain should be "to influence the autonomy" of the country and the European Union in order to "have its own voice".
