The $1 lease for San Onofre State Beach is set to expire in August. Then what?

Summary by Ground News
For decades, the lease has cost a whopping $1. The lease expires this summer, and that bargain price is no longer allowed under federal law. The U.S. Navy and Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton has owned the land since the 1940s. If an agreement cannot be reached before August 31, the maintenance and operation of San Onofre State Beach Park will fall under the authority of the base.
