The Department of Agriculture and Environment of Thanh Hoa province is directing relevant units and localities to investigate the phenomenon of tons of caged fish belonging to local people dying on Cam Thuy 1 hydroelectric reservoir due to an unusual drop in water levels.
(Dai Tri) - The valve door jamming at Cam Thuy 1 Hydropower Plant (Thanh Hoa) caused the water level of the lake floor to drop rapidly. The incident killed more than three tons of caged fish of the population.
A bottom discharge valve at the Cam Thuy 1 hydroelectric plant on the Ma River (Thanh Hoa province) malfunctioned and could not be closed, causing the water level in the reservoir to drop rapidly. Approximately 3.8 tons of fish raised in cages by local people lost water and died.
