4 Texas State University Frat Pledges Arrested on Hazing Charges: Police
Police said the pledges were charged with misdemeanor hazing after witnesses reported a man being forced into a pickup truck.
On Tuesday, San Marcos police arrested four Phi Delta Theta fraternity pledges in connection with a hazing incident at Texas State University.
Public Safety Communications Specialist Russell Wilde said police received multiple calls at 10:40 p.m. Tuesday about men forcing an individual into a truck; those involved claimed the act was a "tradition."
Authorities identified the suspects as Tyler Fogg, 18, William Oldner, 19, Wyatt Carr, 18, and Noah Lara, 20, while the victim, who yelled to be released, is an active fraternity member.
Court records show the group faces misdemeanor hazing charges and received a magistrate warning after San Marcos police located the truck at an apartment complex.
Texas State University Director of University Communications & Public Relations Jayme Blaschke stated the school does not discuss student discipline, while Phi Delta Theta did not immediately respond to KSAT Investigates on Thursday.
