Texas has removed over 1.1 million people from its voter rolls since 2021, Governor Abbott announced. Among those removed, about 463,000 were placed on the state’s “suspense list,” where voters are added when they fail to respond to certification forms requested by counties. The removals also include 457,000 deceased individuals, 134,000 who moved out of state, 65,000 who failed to respond to a notice of examination, 19,000 who requested cancellation, 6,500 noncitizens, and 6,000 individuals with felony convictions.
