14-Year-Old Surrenders in Hamilton Mall Shooting That Killed Teen
Police say the suspect is in custody and investigators are not seeking more suspects after speaking to everyone involved.
A 14-year-old boy wanted in a deadly Ontario mall shooting turned himself in to Hamilton Police on Sunday, ending the search for the suspect.
The shooting occurred Friday inside Jackson Square mall in Hamilton, where the 16-year-old victim walked toward a store and collapsed after being shot.
Investigators determined the teens interacted outside Jackson Square before an altercation inside led to the shooting; police have now spoken to everyone involved and seek no further suspects.
Chief Frank Bergen called the incident a "community call to action," stating that it is deeply troubling another young person is alleged to be responsible.
