TEAMSTERS CELEBRATE BIPARTISAN PUSH TO ADVANCE FASTER LABOR CONTRACTS ACT
The U.S. House of Representatives reached 218 signatures on a discharge petition to advance the Faster Labor Contracts Act, forcing a vote in the upcoming weeks.
The Faster Labor Contracts Act would require employers to begin bargaining with newly organized workers within 10 days after their union vote, amending the National Labor Relations Act.
Senators Josh Hawley and Cory Booker introduced the Senate bill, which has bipartisan and bicameral support.
Teamsters General President Sean M. O'Brien called the bill significant for workers and thanked Democrats and Republicans for their support.
