Taxpayers Might Pay Millions More to Fight Wildfires as Jet Fuel Skyrockets
Aerial firefighting contractors could pass higher fuel costs to taxpayers as jet fuel prices nearly double, pushing the federal bill toward $100 million.
In the summer of 2021, five “Fire Boss” airplanes skimmed the surface of a lake.
