Taxpayer Philanthropy: Vaccine nonprofit boosts exec pay while losing millions
The Albert B. Sabin Vaccine Institute, a federally funded nonprofit, posted net losses of nearly $4 million in 2024 and $2 million in 2023.
The nonprofit's revenue dropped 10.5% from $40.1 million in 2023 to $35.9 million in 2024, with federal grants from Health and Human Services declining.
Despite financial losses and reduced revenue, the Sabin Vaccine Institute increased executive pay and salaries by $800,000 to a total of $9 million in 2024.
CEO Amy Finan's pay rose to $517,124 in 2024, while then-President Anuradha Gupta's compensation increased from $237,447 to $418,131.
