Taipei, Feb. 25 (CNA) The Taipei City government is launching a pilot program to subsidize businesses that reduce daily work hours by one hour for parents of children aged 12 and below who meet eligibility requirements, ensuring no loss in pay, officials said Wednesday.
For many parents, work and childcare are often a daily struggle. Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an announced that starting March 1, Taipei City will lead the way in Taiwan by piloting a "reduced working hours for childcare" program. As long as companies do not reduce salaries, they can allow parents with children under 12 years old to reduce their working hours by one hour per day.
