The new negotiating stage will have the duration of weeks, said the minister on 4 September. After that deadline Air France-KLM and Lufthansa present the final revised proposals, following the preparation of a new assessment report by Parpública, which is then handed over to the government.
The Civil Aviation Pilots Union considers it incomprehensible not to have been heard by the Government about the privatization of TAP and defends verifiable commitments of candidates Lufthansa and Air France-KLM regarding the operation, employment and strategic future of the company.
The French-Dutch Group stated that it was "trusting" in its ability to meet the set timetable.
Air France-KLM considers the new round of negotiations for the privatization of TAP an opportunity to "strengthen" its project for the airline, while Lufthansa sees positively the deepening of the dialogue with the Portuguese government.
The Government of Portugal decided to extend until the end of 2026 the deadline to complete the sale of 44.9% of TAP Air Portugal, in a process that maintains Air France-KLM and Lufthansa as main stakeholders.
