Oh dear, half a year after launching Samson, Swedish developer Liquid Swords have filed for bankruptcy
Earlier this year, Swedish developer Liquid Swords released Samson, a GTA-ish, open world beat 'em up about dealing with debt, driving sturdy but battered cars, and saving your sister. It wasn't received all that well, including by us, notably because it was quite broken. While subsequent patches did seek to address those issues, it doesn't seem like it was quite enough, as the developer has gone bankrupt.
Samson's premiere didn't go as well for Liquid Swords as the studio expected, as they declared bankruptcy half a year after they released it on PC.
A few days ago, Samson's development team, Liquid Swords, filed for bankruptcy after employees went unpaid for months. The bankruptcy trustee is now looking for a buyer for the studio and its assets, founded by Just Cause creator Christofer Sundberg.
After months of economic difficulties and unpaid wages, the Swedish Liquid Swords study formally failed.
The Swedish studio Liquid Swords is insolvent. After weak sales of Samson are now running an orderly bankruptcy procedure and the search for buyers.
