Suspect arrested after vehicle pursuit on FM 1409 in Dayton
On Oct. 24, 2026, a Liberty County Sheriff’s Office deputy patrolling FM 1409 attempted to stop a vehicle for equipment violations. The vehicle fled, leading the deputy on a short pursuit before stopping in a field near FM 1409. The driver, identified as Jason Edward Iorns, 44, was taken into custody after attempting to climb out of the vehicle. Iorns admitted he fled because he had an active parole warrant.
