The government has approved a proposed increase in the sugar tax. The fee for caffeine or taurine content is to be increased tenfold, from 10 groszy to 1 złoty per liter, while the fee for each gram of sugar above 5 grams in 100 ml of beverage will increase from 5 groszy to 10 groszy. The new regulations are to take effect on January 1, 2027.
