Subway Announces Plans that Could See Hundreds of New Shops Across UK
The chain is adding self-order kiosks, breakfast and evening offerings as it aims to nearly double its EMEA footprint in five years.
Subway unveiled the Blueprint restaurant format on October 8, 2026, alongside plans to nearly double its footprint across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa over five years.
This overhaul follows a period of positive sales performance across the Company network, prompting the paired 'Get Your Own Way' advertising campaign across television, social media, packaging, and mobile app.
Every new restaurant and remodel across the region will adopt the layout from January 1, 2027, featuring touch-screen self-order kiosks, order-ready screens, and collection points alongside traditional service counters.
Restaurants will shift into Subway After Dark at 6pm with updated lighting and music, while busy transport hubs will offer a Grab and Go selection of prepared meals for commuters.
Digital menu boards will feature expanded hot items including footlong pizzas and mac 'n' cheese, alongside a new breakfast range and coffee offer, according to Tracy Gehlan, president of Subway EMEA.
