Germany’s popular Deutschlandticket for local and regional transport is secure until 2030, following a decisive vote in the Bundesrat. But travellers should be aware that another price hike could be on the horizon in 2027.
The Federal Council has approved the financing of the German ticket by 2030. The federal government and the Länder each give 1.5 billion euros per year. The price for the popular train ticket will rise to 63 euros from January onwards.
