Clippers eliminate Spruce Kings
NANAIMO — The Nanaimo Clippers beat the Prince George Spruce Kings 6-2 Wednesday night to sweep the third round BCHL series 4-0. Tai Ushio and Lucas Busch scored for the Spruce Kings who trailed 2-1 after the first period and 3-2 after the second period. Nanaimo pulled away in the third period with three more goals, including an empty netter with a 1:25 left in the game. Nanaimo outshot Prince George 44-33 before 1,674 fans at Frank Crane Arena.

For the second time this series, Eliot Séguin-Lescarbeau shutout the Prince George Spruce Kings, as the Nanaimo Clippers won Game 3 by a 4-0 score. Jack Rimmer got the Clippers on the board at 14:21 when Hayden Fechner’s pass deflected off his skate and in to make it 1-0.
