According to experts and activists, there is a greater risk of natural disasters on the Italian island of Ischia due to illegal construction on the island. Building without permits has been around for decades. Experts say that as a result, there are buildings in places where the land and location do not actually allow this. Deforestation and too many buildings are also mentioned as factors that caused the fatal landslide on Friday.
