A proposal for a new Ordinance on metrological and technical requirements for speed cameras in road traffic is in public consultation, which is open until Monday, October 19. A proposal for a new Ordinance on metrological and technical requirements for speedometers in road traffic is being put out for public consultation until next Monday, October 19th, which proposes reducing the safety margin, or tolerance, when measuring speed. This would make the tolerance for speeding recorded by a camera much stricter than it has been so far.
With the new rulebook, for example, a driver who drives 86 km/h in a settlement with a 50 km/h limit would be granted a tolerance of only five instead of the current 10 km/h. The applicable speed would be 81 km/h, which is 31 km/h over the limit, and the fine would be 390 euros instead of 130
