Calgary unemployment rate dropped in July, but remains among highest in Canada

While unemployment in Calgary remains higher than the national rate, some experts are seeing encouraging signs in the local job market including more full-time positions, as well as growth in a wider variety of sectors.

Jobs, Workforce Up in June, Unemployment Hits 5.0%

The latest jobs report shows the Leon County June unemployment rate has reached 5.0%. The May unemployment rate was 4.9%. The number of jobs in June increased by 853, however those seeking work increased by 1,035, resulting in an unemployment rate increase.
