Shane Beamer Rips Connor Stalions, Tennessee Football Conspiracies as ...
Beamer said the speculation disrespects his players and coaches after South Carolina scored 63 points in the 2022 upset.
- On Saturday, South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer publicly rejected conspiracy theories about his team's 2022 victory over Tennessee, calling them disrespectful and ridiculous during a postgame press conference.
- Following Michigan's sign-stealing scandal, fans alleged that former Michigan analyst Connor Stalions shared Tennessee's offensive signals with South Carolina defensive coordinator Clayton White to help the Gamecocks secure the 63-38 upset.
- Stalions denied the claims, describing them as "one of the dozens of conspiracies that are out there" and stating he never met anyone at South Carolina. In that 2022 game, quarterback Spencer Rattler threw for 438 yards.
- Malik Orsan's 48-yard, walk-off field goal secured Saturday's victory, prompting Beamer to challenge critics: "I don't even want to give credence to it and give oxygen to it because it's so ridiculous."
- Beamer emphasized that his team won both games because they were better, not through alleged signal-stealing. South Carolina faces Oklahoma next Saturday as it seeks a third consecutive victory.
