Portugal is preparing to compensate for the fall in photovoltaic production during the eclipse that can be seen this Wednesday.
Network operator estimates that eclipse causes a loss in solar production equivalent to 7% of the national consumption expected for that time, and will mobilize more water and thermal energy.
During the eclipse, sunlight will decrease, and especially in the south. The country will not be totally immersed in the dark, but it will still be enough to have an impact on the production of solar energy.
