Socks For Heroes to distribute free food to veterans in need - Daily Leader

Local veterans and their families are invited to a free food giveaway hosted by The Socks For Heroes organization on Aug. 18 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the American Legion Post 79 at 1014 Main St., Wesson. Volunteers have spent recent days shopping for and packing bags with staples such as peanut butter, sugar, canned green beans, vegetable oil, meat, and other cold items to distribute to veterans in the community.
