Brittany faces an episode of snow and ice on Monday, January 5. In the Finistère, traffic accidents add up. In the region, the prefects take orders to limit traffic, especially that of heavy goods vehicles: be careful when you drive.
Seven departments were placed by Météo-France in snow/verglas orange vigilance: the Finistère, the Côtes-d'Armor, the Ille-et-Vilaine, the Manche, the Calvados, the Eure and the Seine-Maritime.
Weather France has placed for this Monday the Ille-et-Vilaine in orange vigilance for snow and ice. Following this measure, the prefecture has just announced the suspension of school transport and traffic restrictions for heavy goods vehicles.
A snowy disturbance will begin from midnight this Sunday on the Brittany side to the Hauts-de-France, before reaching the Paris basin. School transport will be suspended on Monday in Ille-et-Vilaine and Normandy.
Three Breton departments, the Finistère, the Côtes- d'Armor and the Ille-et-Vilaine are placed in watchful snow and ice on Monday, January 5. The Morbihan is in yellow vigilance. Two to ten centimetres of snow are expected in places. Difficulties are to be expected on the roads.
