- On Friday, Snap announced a multi-year partnership with chipmaker Qualcomm to power its upcoming Specs augmented reality glasses, integrating advanced Snapdragon system-on-a-chip solutions into the wearable hardware.
- The agreement builds on a five-year history between the two firms, following Snap's move earlier this year to spin off Specs as a dedicated subsidiary focused on the business venture.
- Specs will utilize Snapdragon platforms to develop "on-device AI, cutting-edge graphics, and advanced multiuser digital experiences," with Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon stating, "Our work on future generations of Specs will enable power-efficient interactive AR devices."
