- On December 9, Bethesda shadowdropped The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition on Nintendo Switch 2, listing it on the Nintendo eShop with the base game and three expansions.
- With Nintendo releasing the Switch 2 this year, Bethesda Game Studios ported Skyrim to leverage the console's stronger hardware and continue its pattern on the 10th platform.
- The Switch 2 port adds visual upgrades like enhanced resolution and DLSS anti-aliasing, plus Joy‑Con 2 mouse support, motion controls, Amiibo, and exclusive Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild gear including Master Sword, Hylian Shield and Champion's Tunic.
- Owners of Skyrim Anniversary Edition on the original Switch can download the Switch 2 version for free, while base-edition owners pay $20 to upgrade, Bethesda says.
