SK Telecom, Supermicro and Schneider Electric Sign MOU on Total Solutions for AI Data Center Deployment

SK Telecom and partners aim to cut deployment time and costs with modular AI data centers using Compute Express Link technology to optimize resource use and scalability.

  • At MWC26 in Barcelona, SK Telecom signed a three-party MOU with Supermicro and Schneider Electric to develop AI data center solutions, and Panmnesia announced a partnership with SK Telecom.
  • Modern AI data centers face rising inefficiency due to static CPU–GPU–memory bundles, leaving unused resources stranded and forcing operators to add unneeded GPUs when memory is short.
  • CXL Fabric Switch and Link Controllers will interconnect CPUs, GPUs, and memory at rack level, eliminating network involvement as SKT and Panmnesia transition to CXL.
  • Proof-of-Concept deployments aim to boost GPU and memory utilization while shortening deployment timelines, with SKT and Panmnesia planning to validate performance in large-scale AI data center environments by the end of this year.
  • The partners will adopt a pre‑fabricated modular model for AI data centers, with Supermicro supplying GPU‑optimized servers and Schneider Electric providing infrastructure design, as Ha Min‑yong stated.
