Christian Singer Stacie Orrico Sues Ex-Manager for Childhood Sexual Abuse
Stacie Orrico alleges sexual abuse starting at age 14 by manager Britt Ham, accusing Universal Music Group and ForeFront Records of negligence under California's Child Victims Act.
- On Tuesday, Jan. 6, Stacie Orrico filed a lawsuit naming Britt Ham, Universal Music Group and ForeFront Records, alleging childhood sexual abuse and seeking damages plus a jury trial.
- Discovered at age 12 in 1998, Orrico signed with ForeFront Records as a young teen and Ham became her manager, establishing the alleged supervisory relationship.
- The complaint details that Britt Ham allegedly kissed Orrico, told her to lie on his bed, touched her over clothes and between her legs, and used spiritual manipulation saying `the acts were not a sin because he loved her`.
- Orrico says the abuse caused long-term anxiety, depression and creative harm, and her music career stalled around 2007 after leaving ForeFront and Virgin Records.
- The filing alleges that ForeFront executives ignored warning signs about Ham, Orrico invoked the California Child Victims Act, and UMG declined to comment on Thursday.
