Gachagua, Sifuna Meet Amid Malala’s Push for 2027 Alliance
The meeting came as Cleophas Malala pushed a joint ticket to challenge President William Ruto in 2027.
On Tuesday, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua hosted Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and the Linda Mwananchi movement at his Wamunyoro residence in Nyeri County following his return from the United States.
Gachagua spent nearly two months in the United States to avoid what he described as 'undue influence' from political associates, seeking to make decisions independently.
Attendees included DCP Secretary General John Methu, Deputy Party Leader Cleophas Malala, former Law Society president Faith Odhiambo, and Pauline Njoroge gathered at Gachagua's Wamunyoro residence.
Malala has advocated for a Gachagua-Sifuna alliance, arguing the two leaders could form a joint ticket to challenge President William Ruto in the 2027 General Election.
This engagement marks one of Gachagua's first public political appearances since his 2024 impeachment, reflecting active realignments within Kenya's opposition politics ahead of the 2027 General Election.
