SICC approved scheme of arrangement to allow Jetstar Asia customers to recover unused tickets, bookings, vouchers
The court said all approved claims will be repaid in full after low participation in Jetstar Asia's refund program.
On Monday, the Singapore International Commercial Court approved a scheme of arrangement for Jetstar Asia Airways Pte Ltd, enabling nearly 194,000 consumer creditors to recover claims for unused tickets, bookings, and vouchers.
This scheme follows the decision to permanently cease Jetstar Asia business and wind up the company on a solvent basis, with financial backing from parent company Qantas Group supporting the refund programme.
Its central feature was an administrative convenience class comprising 194,200 consumer creditors, who would not be required to vote but were deemed to have unanimously approved the scheme's terms.
SICC International Judge Christopher Scott Sontchi delivered guidance on September 24, 2026 regarding administrative convenience classes under the Singapore Companies Act, while Pacific Airlines withdrew its objection following a settlement.
Full recovery of all approved claims is ensured for both consumer and non-consumer creditors, as the court found no undue prejudice in avoiding a large-scale voting exercise that would have consumed considerable resources.
