Shiv Sena to get Mumbai mayor post after BJP term, says Eknath Shinde; power-sharing deal in BMC also includes pothole, redevelopment and sewage plans.
The dispute over the mayoral position in the BMC has escalated between the BJP and the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena. Shiv Sena leader Amey Ghole stated that a formula had been agreed upon, where the BJP would hold the mayoral position for the first two and a half years, followed by the Shiv Sena for one and a quarter years. However, BJP minister Ashish Shelar denied any such agreement.
There is talk of a tussle between the BJP and the Shiv Sena Shinde faction in the BMC. Shiv Sena BMC faction leader Amey Ghole has reminded the two-and-a-half-year power-sharing formula.
