V zadnjih desetletjih je bila najhujša februarja 2003, ko sta umrla dva rudarja, osem pa je bilo poškodovanih. Najhujša rudarska nesreča se je sicer, kot piše Večer, v zadnjih tridesetih letih zgodila v Hrastniku, ko je umrlo pet ljudi.
