Seven arrested in alleged billion-dollar fake sex abuse claims scheme
Seven individuals, including Fotis Antonios, were arrested in connection with an alleged fraudulent sexual abuse compensation claims scheme totaling over $1 billion.
Fotis Antonios faces 21 charges, including nine counts of dishonestly obtaining a financial advantage by deception.
Police allege the accused, referred to as 'claims farmers,' coached former inmates and public-school students to file false claims for historical abuse.
The scheme aimed to secure $3.75 million in fraudulent claims, but the individuals were apprehended before any payments were made.
