King Feels the Heat in Stifling Conditions at Climate Event
The King attended a climate change event at St James's Palace on the hottest June day recorded in the country, where he was fanned by an aide due to the stifling heat and lack of air conditioning in the historic building.
Earlier the same day, the King met the Afghan Refugee Women's cricket team indoors at Clarence House after their garden event was moved inside to avoid the heat.
Later, the King visited the Roger Gracie Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy, where he received a white belt during a ceremony.
Energy Secretary Ed Miliband spoke at the climate event, highlighting that 35C days in London are the 'new normal' and stressing the importance of reducing methane emissions to address the climate crisis.
