Fireworks Go Off Dangerously Close to Military Helicopter at Seahawks-Bears Game
A four-helicopter Army flyover passed over Lumen Field as fireworks erupted below, with the Black Hawk continuing on unscathed, witnesses said.
During Monday Night Football, The Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter narrowly avoided fireworks during the pre-match flyover at Lumen Field as the Seattle Seahawks faced the Chicago Bears.
Pre-Match flyovers are common entertainment at Lumen Field, though this specific maneuver involved four helicopters passing over the 70,000-capacity venue in diamond formation before veering left.
Observers highlighted the Black Hawk's reputation as a military 'workhorse,' with online users arguing the robust aircraft could easily withstand a direct firework hit. "I promise you that can take a direct hit from one of those fireworks with no issue," one wrote.
Separately, Two Airlink Embraer E-Jets performed a low-level flyover at DHL Stadium in Cape Town ahead of the South Africa versus New Zealand Rugby match on Saturday.
Airlink praised the 'spectacular scenes' and confirmed the crew operated within 'approved and rehearsed safety altitude and speed limits' during the Cape Town flyover, emphasizing careful planning and experienced crew.
A Black Hawk helicopter was in danger in Seattle: before an NFL game, fireworks exploded near a military plane flying over the stadium. A video was made.
