The Ministry of Education will start discussions on the methodology and timing of admission to high school in 2027 on Tuesday, under the conditions that the current legislation allows for a separate review, in addition to the National Assessment, for certain schools and specializations.
Interim Minister for Education, Mihai Dimian, came up with a series of clarifications on the separate admission competition in the ninth class, stating that it is important for Parliament to decide as soon as possible whether the provision adopted in 2023 remains in force, is repealed or extended.

The interim Minister of Education, Mihai Dimian, warns that Parliament must urgently clarify whether schools will be able to organise their own admission competitions for up to 50% of places starting with the school year 2026-2027. Until a possible amendment of the law, the ministry is obliged to prepare admission according to the rules in force, while proposing additional guarantees of transparency, objectivity and fairness.
